“The phone calls – so many phone calls – they were like clarion calls across the miles, over the water and upland valleys, and into the beating heart of the house.”

~ Lorraine Marson

“I give up waiting for the rain to ease, finish off my third pint, stand carefully and edge out through the narrow pair of pub doors. Gingerly. The heavy hinge springs try to push me off the crutches, and its slippery now as the rain has blown in onto the tiled steps.”

~ Dave Moore

“When the doorbell rang, Anne jumped, knocking her leg against the coffee table. She leant forward and rubbed her shin, glad it was too dark for her to see the veins and splotches that seemed to be spreading over her thinned and greying skin like mould.”

~ Olivia Spooner

From the historical to the fantastical, the real to the surreal, Fresh Ink 2019 is an exciting anthology of New Zealand fiction, poetry, and artwork, presenting the various voices and styles of New Zealand writing at its best – exhibiting work from established and award-winning authors as well as some lively ‘fresh ink’ from previously unpublished literary voices.

A perfect gift for Christmas!
